Searching for the cache will take you along Tar Branch where you will see a piece of history most visitors never know is there.
Built in 1883, this is one of three masonry vaulted arch bridges in Winston-Salem. They are some of the oldest surviving bridges in the state. The bridges are public-works projects from the Salem Town period, before the towns of Salem and Winston were merged in 1913.
Don't approach from above.
We usually park off of Academy St. southeast of the bridge and approach the creek from there.
