The "Peanuts" Gang

THE SERIES:

This series, YAGM (You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown), is dedicated to Charles M. Schulz and his "Peanuts" comic strip. There are twelve caches in the series, each named for one of the characters in the comic.

You do not have to find one to find another - each is an independent hide. There are no puzzles to solve or questions to answer. Each cache is a micro and is a pretty simple grab - some are easier than others. In general, be stealthy and watch out for muggles. The difficulty level, if higher, is usually due to muggle activity. Always bring your own writing utensil. And, as always, ENJOY!

THE CHARACTER:

This cache is dedicated to Lucy.

Lucy Van Pelt works hard at being bossy, crabby and selfish. She is loud and yells a lot. Her smiles and motives are rarely pure. She's a know-it-all who dispenses advice whether you want it or not--and for Charlie Brown, there's a charge. She's a fussbudget, in the true sense of the word. She's a real grouch, with only one or two soft spots, and both of them may be Schroeder, who prefers Beethoven. As she sees it, hers is the only way. The absence of logic in her arguments holds a kind of shining lunacy. When it comes to compliments, Lucy only likes receiving them. If she's paying one--or even smiling--she's probably up to something devious. - From The Official Peanuts Website

Lucy was introduced into the strip on March 3, 1952.
Lucy's most famous gimmick in her long existence as a character is as the one who pulls the football away from Charlie Brown right as he is about to kick it. The first occasion on which she did this was November 16, 1952.
On Charlie Brown's baseball team Lucy plays right field, and is characterized as a bad player. Lucy has a knack for coming up with a novel excuse for every fly ball she misses (for example: "The moons of Saturn got in my eyes," or "I think there were toxic substances coming from my glove, and they made me dizzy.").
