This geocache is located near a famous restaurant. The cache isn't that hard to find. If some-one comes out to ask questions, just wave your G.P.S. and they will know what you are doing.
History:
In the year 1912, Allison Van Hoose, a gifted musician, bought 6 acres of land from Nathan Page on top of Page Hill. Van Hoose built a music conservatory for girls that continued until 1917 when it was sold as a summer home. A variety of people owned the building as a summer home till 1937. In 1937, Hamilton and Francis Dunham Chequer purchased the home and opened it as Melody Lodge for dining and lodging. Through the years a Call owned the building and kept it as a business. In the 1970's George Swift purchased Melody Lodge and it has been in the family ever since. With its scenic view of Lake Pleasant and Lake Sacandaga, good meals and a rustic lodging, Melody Lodge has become a favorite of both the local people and the vacationers.
