Well, it's probably just an urban legend, but that's what we sure thought when we were kids. Most likely, hobos, rednecks and neighborhood kids are the usual visitors.
WARNING!!!! DO NOT WALK THROUGH THE SWAMP!!!
ALSO, THERE ARE IVY-TYPE VINES HANGING AT THE OPENING OF THE CAVE AREA. DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!! To reach the cave, walk (or 4-wheel drive) on the roadway to the east of the swamp until you reach a sandstone outcropping, then follow the trail from there to the cave under the sandstope knoll.!! There is a picture of the cave opening on the Feb. 7, 2003. You can also see the small green vines.
This cave is located about a quarter of a mile northwest of the Harvest Christian Assembly church (formerly 2 Lazy 2 Ranch Steakhouse) by the Buena Vista Subdivision off Interstate exit #10 in Washington. Walk, or drive, up the dirt road on the east of the creek until you reach a marsh. The waypoint is located at the mouth of the cave and the cache is inside. You'll need a flashlight and you'll get wet. The water isn't deep, but you have to crouch to get through the entrance to the cave.
