A small cache near a beautiful small park

Montecillo de Leo Politi

I drive by the entrance to Montecillo de Leo Politi everyday, so today I figured I would check it out. Up the hill (a quick drive if the gate is open, a short walk if it isn't) is a fee-use small park. The cache is located a short walk up the hill from the place you can first see the grass field.

Walked over the hill from the Elysian Park cache. Timed the grab and replacement between maintenance vehicles driving along the road. Walked back down the paved road. Thanks for the cache.

Found with a whole posse of geocachers. As per usual, we took the extra long way to the cache. ;) TFTC!

Locked gate so I opted for the hike - Wasn't too bad except for a few dirty diapers discarded in the brush - Thanks for another hide GeoCraig

The most eventful one of the day. There was some sort of huge organized picnic complete with park rangers. The GPSr sent us up and around the trails and even through a hobo hideout. tsnames2 and I were kicking ourselves at how simple the cache location was despite the long needless trek. Oh well, TFTC SL.
