The Coosa WMA is a public hunting area that covers almost the
entire western half of Coosa County. It is bordered on the west by
Lake Mitchell and on the east by Alabama Highway 29. There are no
open hunting seasons during the summer months and even during the
hunting seasons most of the hunters have packed up and moved on by
the early afternoon. The official website of the WMA and a map can
be found at: Outdoor
Alabama
The terrain is hilly, generally open, and covered with forest
service type dirt roads. Four wheel drive vehicles aren't required,
but a higher ground clearance vehicle (pickup truck or SUV) will be
needed to drive to the cache location.
Alternately, you can park at the paved road (N32 56.987 W086
26.441) and hike in on the service roads. It's between 4 and 5
miles from the paved road in to the cache site.
This cache is located near one of the distinguishing landmarks
of the WMA, the Underwater Bridge. The container is an ammo can
with a Geocaching.com sticker on the side. Please try to keep this
cache stocked with quality items. It's initial contents are:
- Geocaching.com inside window cling banner
- Geocaching.com sew-on patch
- Two stainless steel pocket rulers
- ”12 Angry Men” DVD
- Flashlight with batteries
- Compact binoculars
- Logbook, pens, CITO bags, etc...

Muggles could be an issue. This is a popular local recreation
spot. So be very discreet. Please make sure to re-hide the cache as
it was left and camouflage it well.
