Spinning in Circles Traditional Cache

Hemlock: While reviewing a new cache nearby, I noticed this cache which is temporarily disabled. According to the guidelines, temporary means a couple of months or less. This cache has been under the weather for almost a year! While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don't think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

When/if this cache is replaced, please email me at hemlock@geocachingadmin.com and I'll be more than happy to take a look at your cache again. If it is still within the guidelines for cache placement and posting, it will then be unarchived.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Geocache Description:

The cache has been relocated about 10-15 yards to the west of the listed coordinates due to gardening and trimming in the area. Please hide the cache exactly where you found it. Thanks.

The Encino Velodrome (www.encinovelodrome.org), built in the early 1960s, is a San Fernando Valley landmark that many have heard of but few have seen. Home of the 1968 Olympic trials and a host of current cycling events, the Velodrome is worth a visit. This kid-friendly cache will give you a great view of the facility. Be sure to check the track schedule before visiting. Perhaps you can see some cyclists in action.

Tucked in the back of a Little League baseball park, the Velodrome is surrounded by baseball fields and can be a very busy place in the evenings and on weekends during baseball season. The trickiest part of this cache is finding the best way to approach it. You DO NOT need to climb fences, and the cache is NOT inside the Velodrome. It can be reached from the South if the parking lots are open; otherwise, go East for another access point. The cache is just off a well-traveled path, so please be discreet when retrieving it.
