There are about 220 cherry blossom trees as well as an artificial stream complementing the magnificent greenery of the park. This is a multipurpose park with an adjoining baseball field and tennis courts. People gather to see the cherry blossoms in spring and children fill the air with their laughter as they play in the water on hot summer days.
A culture center was built in the park in 1930. It is very impressive with its white walls and western style construction and is often used as a location for television dramas.
There was a munitions factory in Chuuo Park from the Meiji era to the Showa era.
The field hospital of the United States Armed Forces was built for Vietnamese wartime. It was called OJI CAMP. We can see the building which was the headquarters now.
