A cache with a family history...
This cache is an extra large Rubbermaid type tote that was placed in 2005 and has 'given birth' to numerous cachelings over the past years. It is estimated that she was responsible for 70+ caches if all of her 'kids' were used for new caches-some are listed below. During her hay day, 'Mother' was stocked with different sized cache containers inside-all ready to go. They all had logbooks, pencils, and sharpeners.
She has now entered into a brief retirement and will be utilized as a regular cache for the time being.
The cache location is inside of the Pittsfield State Forest, easily accessed from the parking area beyond the park headquarters. It is less than .2 mile in from the parking area on the Lulu trail departing from the far end of the parking lot. The trail name is marked and easily visible. The cache is actually between the loop trails if you are making a full trip around. Otherwise the scenery is beautiful.
*Update* Be sure to seal container well and place rocks on top as animals have rummaged through the cache previously. Thanks!
