The
original regular cache was taken along with many other New Forest caches
in September 2003. I then changed this to a virtual cache in the same
area, but now that permission has been granted to have caches in the New
Forest I have resurrected it, albeit in a slightly different place, so
it can be logged as a new find, even if you found the previous two.
This
cache is situated in the New Forest just north of Ringwood. It is a
beautiful area with many woods, brooks and open areas to run and play
in. It can be very busy in the summer so please take care. If it has
been raining wet weather footwear is recommended.
The aim of the cache
is to have an enjoyable walk, and if you feel a little more adventurous
don’t just walk back to the car, but do a circular route. Many
families in the summer bring picnics and spend the day at Linford
Bottom.
Park your car at
Linford Bottom N50°51.856
W001°44.654.
Public
conveniences are available here. The cache is an easy walk of just over
a mile. If you are quiet near the cache you could see deer.
This
cache is hidden under the
agreement between the GAGB and Forestry Commission in the New
Forest.
When
by the gate, near to the cache, take the right hand path (if coming in
from the west)
Enjoy your visit.
