Geocache Description:

This is on the section of the Horseshoe Trail between Fairview Rd. and Prizer Rd. The trail goes up and down steeply. There are streams to cross. A portion of this section goes a long the edge of Welkenweir. There is a horse farm at Prizer Rd.

From the parking off Fairview Road follow the yellow blazes steeply up the driveway and turn left into the woods. The trail continues to climb. One of the predominent trees in the woods is the Tulip Tree. Tulip trees reach 90' or more in height. They're tall and straight-trunked. The branches begin rather far up the trunk and are often arranged symmetrically. Tulip trees can be identified by the shape of their leaves: the concavity at the tips of the leaves (or where one would expect a typical tip) suggests that someone came along and took a bite out of them! Their leaves provide yellow to gold fall foliage. The flowers that give tulip trees their name are yellowish-green, with a touch of orange on the outside.

You are looking for a Tulip Tree and the cache which it protects.
