Geocache Description:

Come join us for a quick Meet-And-Greet! It will be a time to show off your off-road vehicle and to eat a donut. We will be welcoming Scott Thompson (a.k.a. Firesafe) to our area once again. He is an Aussie whom many of you have met in the past.

March 24th, 2012 - 8:30 AM

After the event, some of us will continue on up the hill in our vehicles. We will be exploring the Virginia Range behind Hidden Valley and Double-Diamond. There are some great caches here. ... See the attached Bookmark list

This is a great area. These caches will involve a 4-WD approach along with a short to a moderate hike. Most are rated at 3 or 4 terrain. The off-road driving will be moderate. High clearance is a must. You will probably want to be in 4 wheel-drive for part of the trip but you likely won't need low-range.

What if you don't have an appropriate vehicle? It is likely that there will be extra seats. The protocol is that you should let us know that you need a ride in your "Will Attend" log. Plan to bring $5 or so to contribute to your driver for gas.Bring sturdy shoes, a lunch, water and sunscreen.

The Meet-and-Greet area is in the empty field across from the Short Stop just north of I-80 on Vista. The We will begin at 8:30 AM. Be there a bit early if you want to pick-up a donut or a cup of coffee from the Short-Stop or the MacDonalds across the street. I'll bring a dozen donuts to share.
