Geocache Description:

Micro Container; almost guaranteed to be winter friendly! Please replace so it cannot be seen at a glance.

In honor of my marriage to Nobody8, I have placed a series of hides that celebrates our honeymoon: The lunar month after our wedding day, which was August 3, 2013.

Understanding the "between" lunar phase names is easy if you break out and define 4 words: crescent, gibbous, waxing, and waning. The word crescent refers to the phases where the moon is less than half illuminated. The word gibbous refers to phases where the moon is more than half illuminated. Waxing essentially means "growing" or expanding in illumination, and waning means "shrinking" or decreasing in illumination.

The Waning Crescent moon is the phase when the moon is becoming less even less visible: After the 3rd quarter moon , the light decreases and the shadow forms a crescent shape as the moon approaches the next New Moon.
