Bike 104 Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

ChileHead: I have been thinking about what to do with this cache for some time. With construction at the beginning and end of this cache (no more trees!) I would have to find a new spot for those two waypoints. Additionally, one more waypoint was missing.

Unfortunately I'll be archiving this cache, although it was one of my favorite hides that I made.

Thanks to everybody who visited!

Geocache Description:

Multicache with a flat easy bike ride along the 104 bike path in Webster.

This multi-cache follows the 104 bike path in Webster. I highly recommend using a bike to do this cache. The total distance is over 8 miles. You may drive from waypoint to waypoint with a short walk on each one, but it would probably be quicker and easier to bike it. The bike path is nicely maintained, and you may rollerblade it as well (there are a few rooty spots that make blading a bit difficult though).

Best place to park is near the first waypoint at North Ponds Park. There is parking available on the North and South sides of the park. Normally the south end requires a fee to park, but the beach front is currently closed (for the season?) and does not require a fee.

Each stage in this multi cache is hidden differently with various containers. Some are easy, and some of them may take you a while to find, but if you are wheely smart, you may find it right away. All but the first and last are within a few feet of the bike trail (and even those are a very short distance away).

Hints will be sent to anybody who posts a DNF. Please post the waypoint number you were stuck on.

  • The 3rd waypoint only lists the last 3 digits for longitude and latitude. The other numbers are the same as where you are at.
  • The biggest gap is between the first and second waypoints - after that, they are much closer together.
  • There is a first to find prize for the first finder - but it didn't fit in the cache and is located in a blue bag right under the cache.
  • The cache itself is not your standard ammo can.

Let me know how well I assessed the difficulty. I made the terrain a 3 based purely on length, but it really is easy if you're biking.
