Geocache Description:

“See the real Florida” Do not miss a chance to visit this beautiful park and find this cache, hidden just off of a established park trail. You can park at the beautiful beach park at the launching ramp and walk back on the road to the trail head.

***PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS AND OBEY ALL PARK RULES***

This coastal park sits on the northern shoreline of its namesake, Big Lagoon, which separates the mainland from Perdido Key and the Gulf of Mexico. Natural communities, ranging from saltwater marshes to pine flatwoods, attract a wide variety of birds, especially during the spring and fall migrations. Beaches, shallow bays, nature trails, and open woodlands offer splendid opportunities for nature study. There are also opportunities for camping, swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, and hiking. Crabbing in the shallow waters of Big Lagoon is a popular activity as well. Located on County Road 292A, 10 miles southwest of Pensacola.
The park is open from 8 a.m. until sundown 365 days a year.
There is a $6.00 admission fee per car to the park.
While you are in the area, check out the other caches nearby!!

***PARKING IS NOT ALLOWED ALONG THE PARK ROADS!! THE PARK MANAGER HAS ASKED TO PARK ONLY IN THE PAVED PARKING LOTS JUST SOUTH OF THE CACHE TRAIL ENTRANCE TO PREVENT CITATIONS!!***
