Ok ok it isn't EXACTLY a river...and those aren't EXACTLY woods
but that IS how I get to my grandmother's house.
My grandmother lives around the corner from this park and it was
on many occasion that, as a youth, I got a chance to come play in
this park while we kids were waiting for something to cook, freeze
or the adults just wanted us out of their hair.
When I moved to Castro Valley I was bummed to learn that there
was already a cache here. The owner had put it up for adoption and
the new owner was having trouble keeping it up with her busy
schedule so I jumped at the chance to help out
For the most part the park hasn't changed much. The playground
equipment is upgraded and now "safer" (how in the heck did we all
survive childhood?) and the latest addition has been a dog park.
All in all this is a good park to play frisbee, ride a bike,
skateboard, non motorized vehicle of some sort, run, play and
remember the good ol' days.
The cache container is a powdered breakfast drink mix container
wrapped in duct tape. It is big enough to hold a few trade items
and small travel bugs. I live right across the street and will
check on it on a regular basis. Please no geojunk! Happy
Caching!
