History:

Madera Siding, also called Madera Station, was a Denver & Rio Grande (Rio Grande or D&RG) railroad stop located at the mouth of Johnson Gulch on the Carr Ranch. Madera means lumber in Spanish. The Rio Grande used Madera Siding to load lumber and for water for the steam engines.
