This is a log only cache with no FTF, no room for trade items
and no room for Travel Bugs. This geocache is difficult to find.
This geocache must be replaced correctly. There is NO hint
available until after you visit the site.
This is the first cache I have placed that I did not include the
"If you found this geocache by accident" warning on the cache card
as I felt it wasn't required. This cache contains a cache card, a
log book and half a pencil, I could not fit a sharpener.
The Clark's Grebe, like the closely related Western Grebe, is a
piscivore and fishes by diving in freshwater. It is exciting to
watch them fish and they move through the water effortlessly. Both
of these grebes are very similar in looks and are often seen
together. The Clark's Grebe is difficult to pick out in a flock of
Western and Clark Grebes as only a few telltales exist and they are
related to the beak and eye colour. I saw grebes on every visit I
made while building and placing the cache, they will soon be gone
for the winter but in the summer this is a great place to watch
them fish.
You may need this : N49 58.214 W109 31.140 From the benchmark
(in this case a bronze disk) near the cache site it is exactly
eleven paces towards the road and three paces parallel to the
road.
You will enjoy spending some time searching for this cache if
you are passing by. This should be a nice break along the Trans
Canada Highway in a great little spot. There is a place to camp
nearby and all services are available in Maple Creek, there are
several more caches there as well!
It is critical to replace this geocache as found, this
will ensure the next geocacher can complete their search
successfully. If you would like a hint for this cache then you are
going to have to obtain information from the bronze benchmark near
the cache. There are four numbers on the benchmark, send me those
numbers using my profile link here on geocaching.com and I will
send you the hint, you don't have to post a DNF.
Please let others know how you feel about this cache by making
an entry in the online log here on geocaching.com.
