Geocache Description:

This was once the home of a Canalgirl Cache. I feel that this little spot still deserves a cache and this little town deserves another easy smiley. Thanx for bringing me to this cute little pocket park Canalgirl.

Now on to the cache location. There is actually a few things going on in this little park on the corner of Rt. 30 & Rt. 5s. We have a time capsule, a really cool cannon and an awesome statue. Here's a little info on all of those.

Glen Bicentennial Time Capsule

1976 TIME CAPSULE DEDICATED BY THE VILLAGE OF FULTONVILLE AND TOWN OF GLEN BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE TO BE OPENED IN 2076 "IN GOD WE TRUST"

All I've found on this one is what's written above and copied right off of the stone itself.

IX-inch Dahlgren shell gun?

This is one of the bigger cannon's I've found and the second one that has had a cannonball pried loose. The missing cannonball is behind some bushes towards the front of this tiny park. The only stamp I see is F.P.No759 and 9340lbs. I'm guessing Fort Pitt?

Like Hell They Can!!

This is one of the best statues I've had the pleasure to see. Two men, one is a military soldier and the other is a navy soldier on top of the nice chunk of granite, very well done. The detail is quite amazing, from the facial features down to the gun in the holster. To see all of these with a bit more info you can visit them as a waymark and find some more cannons in the area.

Now onto the cache. For those of you who have found the cache before then read no farther. You know where it is. The container has changed but the location is roughly the same. The cache is about the size of 2 film cans.

Please don't tear up the tree anymore. The tree has very obvious cacher damage from the last time I found the original cache. There is no need to break branches. Look from several different angles and the container should reveal itself. I double checked it and can see it from 2 different perspectives. Please replace the cache as you found it.

There is parking nearby at the church with the exception of Sunday's of course and along side the village streets. You will have to cross an intersection which can be quite busy sometimes. Just be careful, this is geocaching, not frogger!! Thanx for reading and Happy Cachin' or Waymarkin'. Swizzle-N-Family
