WWFM III
World Wide Flash Mob ~ TAG* Style
Be a part of geocaching history!



8:00AM until 8:15AM Eastern; 7:00AM until 7:15AM Central. I'm not sure exactly which time zone the event is actually in.
This is a Flash Mob gathering of geocachers and is only 15 minutes long. You MUST be present for the photo and sign a logbook DURING this time to claim the event.
Please bring your own writing instrument.

The theme is TAG, so we will play a kid's game of TAG during the event. We are meeting as close to the tri-state corner as possible, on a public area large enough to accommodate the gathering. Travel time to the area from the I24/I59 split is 15-20 minutes. Take I24W exit 161 and go west on TN156/Shellmound Road. As you near the coords, watch for a left turn, then a right into the event area. This road is very twisty, so be careful. Please, no firearms or alcohol at the event location.

You need to post a Will Attend log on or before May 9th, 2008.

ITINERARY:

  • 7:45AM - 7:59AM Eastern Time - Participants should wait patiently in your vehicles until the signal is given. As much as you can, act like a muggle, pretend not to know each other or give any indication that anything is about to happen. At 7:59AM, I will place a green ammo can at ground zero. This is the signal for the Flash Mob Event to begin. Everyone now makes their way to the ammo can.
  • 8:00AM - A log book will be passed around. Bring your own writing instrument. Mingle. Trade travel bugs and coins. Share stories. Brag. Take pictures. Make arrangements to meet elsewhere, or to find the various caches in the nearby area.
  • 8:04AM - Assemble for a drawing at my signal, and assemble quickly. Listen to me (the raffler) for directions. The ammo can will be raffled off. The winner is immediately responsible for removing the ammo can.
  • 8:07AM - Assemble for a group photo at my signal, and assemble quickly. Listen to me (the photographer) for directions. A group photo will be taken.
  • 8:10AM - For five minutes we will play the kid's game of TAG. I will be "it" first. When I TAG someone, they will become "it". You cannot TAG the person who TAGGED you. Please, no pushing or shoving.
  • 8:15AM EXACTLY - Wait for it... then LEAVE the area quickly and in an orderly fashion (no car accidents please). Meet elsewhere if desired. If you were not present in the group photo, you cannot log the event.

If everything goes as planned, we will have lots of people coming out of their cars and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event, playing TAG for a few minutes, and then disappearing. This will be lots of fun!
