How Geocaching Works
This cache is located at the former site of the Whippoorwill Lodge in Pinicon Ridge County Park, a Linn County Conservation Department area.
This cache is placed, with permission from the park ranger, at the scenic former site of the Whippoorwill Lodge. The area overlooks the Wapsipinicon River and has been the site of a former lodge as well as a settlement site to inhabitants of the area for thousands of years.
The cache is a standard metal container ammo box and is staked into the ground and connected to a chain. There is a log book, reading book, several trinckets. At the time of placement there were two travel bugs placed as well.
Enjoy finding this cache as you will find it to be one of the more scenic areas of the park. The park is open from 4:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily and there is parking nearby at the Wildlife Exhibit.
