Pompton Lake holds a special place in my heart because this is where I come on some early mornings to just be outside on a familiar water trail to think (and pray) about what’s going on in and around my life.
I'm the kayaking (and geocaching) fanatic in my family, but it was my wife that thought this lake would be a good place to hide a cache.
I just used some "native material" to hide the cache so I doubt you will need a hint.
There is a Porta-Potty at the Put-in. In addition, the park has a playground and a nice gazebo for you to sit in and enjoy the view of the lake.
The put-in is on Lakeside Ave. Drop your boat and park on either Grant or Schuyler. Or come from the beautiful Sunny Bank Terhune Memorial Park off Terhune Drive (202).
You should be able to get your footing if you land on the South East of the island.
