Penguin's Loot on Looney Island. You need a boat, so the Mighty Penguins will call it 4.5 stars. It's not really that hard. Can put in 1/4 mile from cache.
PENGUIN'S LOOT! Grab your boat and go to Looney Island. This island has quite an unsual history relating to Knoxville. The Looney family (freed slaves by the way) owned this island. A stolen riverboat hit this island and was grounded over a hundred years ago. Back to the cache. Standard ammo box. Please put the cache back to where it was. Contains Log book, Mardi Gras beads, coins (euros Dmark and Yaun) , some hot wheels cars a lobster toy, fishing supplies and a Mighty Penguin Travel kit. Closest boat ramps are at Marine Park and Sequoha hills park. Wear your lifejackets and enjoy watching the Blue Herons. This area is a bit muddy and overgrown so be prepared to get dirty, wet and bit by bugs. Best place to beach at this time is on the north side of the island, just a few west of the cache.

After passing this one from Alcoa Highway for the last couple of years I finally got the chance to grab it with my good friend Wascalley Wabbit. We were much better at steering the canoe on this cache than on "Stocking the Isle" where we were beginners. Now we are experts. Just call us the Skipper and Gilligan. We made short work of the 1/4 mile we had to paddle to this cache. It took longer to find than it took to get there. On the island was what my pal neubert500 would refer to as "Big Foot Country". Lots of briars, spider webs and thick vegetation. I was hoping to guard the canoe while WW found the cache but he was coming up empty so I had to jump out of the canoe and push it on dry land and help. But it turned out he really didn't need any help because he came up with it in about 5 minutes after I got on dry land. Nice hide. Glad to get the smiley on this one. Thanks for hiding.

TFTC SL Utivol and myself got the smiley on great afternoon cacheing run and this was our second island cache of the day.By this time we were much more comfortable in the canoe and had no trouble getting to the island ,but it did take a while in the heat and bushes to come up with the cache ! Should have paid more attention to the clue Thanks for the adventure, made us feel like Tom Sayer or Huck Finn, not sure which one Utivol looks like?

I am here in Knoxville from Austin, Texas visiting relatives. At dinner, they saw my GPS and so I explained geocaching to them. They were instantly hooked. Luckily, they owned a boat just a few miles down the lake, so after dinner we all went and found this cache. This was a great cache with which to introduce people to geocaching. Hopefully they won't be disappointed from now on!

This was a great adventure. The cache is in good condition. TFTC!!!

This was a really fun visit. First of all, we hadn't had the canoe out in a few years, so it gave us an excuse to pull it out from under the back porch, wash it off, figure out how to load it on the pickup that hadn't carried it yet, and use it to paddle across to the island. Second, it was such a beautiful day and a nice paddle. We saw ducks, Canada geese, Osprey, and a Great Blue Heron. I cannot believe that nobody has visited this in over a year! Left a mattel car, took a comb from a fancy hotel with Asian characters on it.

Whew! I finally got me a rubber duckie so I could find this cache! Of course, I took the long way to it. I came in from the south side and had to fight my way through the jungle. This is a very cool cache and I'm glad I finally got it off my list. TNLN. TFTC. On to "Beeler".
