If you've traveled in the area, you've probably seen signs for
the Brandeis-Barden Institute if you exited the freeway at Tapo
Canyon road. Other then seeing the signs, very few actually know
about the institute. The cache is hidden near the entrance to the
university. The university itself sits on a huge area of land, 3000
acres, which are discreetly hidden from the city by the nearby
hills. The institute, run by the American Jewish University offers
courses in Jewish learning in a family friendly environment. Very
well known by those of the Jewish faith, but almost unknown by
others. For those that have done any hiking up in the hills to the
south, you can get a good overview of the area from the Albertson
Fire Road up on the ridgeline. The Runkle cache to the west is also
close to an spot where you can see into the secluded valley where
the university sits.
