Welcome to a tour of Avondale. This series is dedicated to the small borough of Avondale. Many of you have driven through and past this borough along route 41. This route sees a heavy load of traffic going to and from Newport, DE to Gap, PA. If you are coming from the south, it is the Newport Gap Pike but from the north they call it the Gap Newport Pike. It has been a major shipping route since the early 1800’s. Many have passed through Avondale, but few have ventured off its’ main roads. This area was ripe for some caches so enjoy your tour as you visit the a little bit of Avondale.
This cache is placed next to a cute little playground. There is an active rail line nearby but the cache is not near that. This will test your ability to think outside the box. If you post a DNF I will send a hint. If their is activity in the playground, stealth will be required.
