The 5 acres directly across from the Dare County YMCA at 2921 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head, NC.
The town of Nags Head has purchased the former Dowdy Amusement Park site and is in the early planning stages to develop it into a family park. One of the first steps is cleaning the area. The town is GeoCache friendly and this is an opportunity to show our gratitude.
There will be someone from the town, probably Public Works, to show what areas of the park that may need special attention. Parking available. No working restrooms on the site, but the YMCA is across the street. Town staff will provide gloves, paint, paintbrushes and trash bags. There should not be any flammable or otherwise dangerous materials to deal with.
In the event of inclement weather, the severity of the weather that day will determine how much clean up action will still take place.
