Geocache Description:



Calling all cachers to help others learn about Geocaching!
Come join the Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization and Appalachian Trail Conservancy in a joint event to hike our way through history! We'll be gathering first at the posted coordinates for a short introduction on how to geocache and use a GPS device for those who have never geocached before and afterwards, for anyone that wishes to join in, proceeding on a hiking excursion through the battlefield.

Whether experienced cacher or brand new, everyone is welcome! We'll be joined by a number of 2015 ATC Biennial Conference attendees and will be demonstrating to them the fun of Geocaching.

When: Sunday, July 19th, 1 PM until 3:30 PM at Third Winchester Battlefield.

The first hour will be a meet-and-greet and introduction to geocaching demonstration and then we'll head out on the hike. Participation in the hike is not required to attend this event.
