Geocache Description:

I was given permission by the director of the Polson Museum to place this cache on one of their outdoor displays. Please respect the grounds as you hunt for this addition to the equipment. The cache contains a tiny scroll log only. If it is raining please take it inside your car to keep it dry and allow you to roll it back up. Please replace carefully...Thank you...CCC.

This is a Tacoma Steam Yarder(circa 1915) also known as a "steam donkey" used in the logging industry years ago to drag logs out of the woods to a place where they could be conveniently loaded. The furnace was fueled by wood. Enjoy the hunt and visit the museum after you find it (even if you don't). It is located right on Highway 101 just before crossing the bridge into downtown Hoquiam.
