This cache will take you to an interesting rock formation in a secluded valley, at an area of the Mecsek that is not very well known, not frequented by tourists, though it would definitely deserve it. It is not an easy hike and retrieving the cache is not easy either, but we hope you will feel it was worth it.
Geocoins, Travel Bugs are welcome.
If you want to log your find on geocaching.hu, you can find this cache under the short name GCVAGY. Please don't forget to record the password from the logbook.

How to get there?
No marked trail leads to the Maiden's Rock. You may start from Magyaregregy, Kisbattyán, Kisvaszar, or even Szalatnak.
The shortest route, 3 km (one way) is from Magyaregregy, starting from Petőfi utca.
The longer, but very nice route with minimal elevation, but with jumping over the small creek and climbing over fallen trees in the last 2 km is from the village of Kisvaszar through the Szabadság- and Vágyom-völgy (valleys) The distance is (6.25 km, one way). The Vágyom valley is sometimes wider, sometimes narrower, but is always surrounded by steep hills. It is a beautiful sight in each season.
The Cache
It is a 25 x 25 x 10 cm camoed plastic container, about 60 m from the Maiden's Rock. Getting to it in rainy or snowy weather can be hard. The container is relatively large (5 l). We filled it with swag. It depends on you, too, whether the next cacher finds it full of loot or empty. No advertisement, no business cards, no food items, please, but larger toys are very welcome!
The Legend
The rock got its name from a girl and a boy who fell in love. Their parents were very much against the romance and cursed them, that they'd rather see them turning into rocks, then bringing shame on the family. The couple tried to hide from their families and met secretly in the forest. They could hide from their parents' eyes, but could not hide from the curse. In the moment of their love, they both turned into rocks. Which one is the boy and which is the girl? - that is your task to decide. Fans of abstract art have an advantage.
Things to See
Creeks, deep valleys, animal footprints, wild flowers, birds, deer, wild boar. On the afternoon of the hide, deer crossed our path three times and we also saw a huge wild boar with two little ones. We haven't met any humans. Most of the way we followed the footprints of deer. We found a fox and a deer skull and and picked some nicely shaped rocks from the creek bed.
Advice and Warnings
There is logging going on in the forest, you may meet workers and machinery, noise may disturb the peace.
The area is rich in game, and in season probably in hunters, too. It is better to wear bright colors, and wiser not to hike here at dawn and dusk during hunting season.
If you see a wild boar with its babies, do not approach, it may attack you!
The portion of the recommended route from the hunting lodge to the Girl's Rock is not suitable for bicycle.
Long pants, hiking boots are recommended.
Don't forget to take water, food, and swags with you!
Mosquito and tick repellent may be useful in the summer.
There is no reception in the area, that expect to call for help on your cell phone.
Have a nice time!
