The cache is hidden with approval from the Tshwane Argiculture & Environmental Department in a fenced off area inside the Rietvlei Nature Reserve.
This is the first official cache in this Reserve with approval after caches were archieved in 2006.
This scenic 4000-hectare reserve is situated close to Pretoria and is a sanctuary for rhino, buffalo, various antelope species as well as many bird species. It is mainly visited as a day excursion and offers scenic picnic spots and angling facilities.
There are dangerous animals within this reserve and getting out of the car is only permitted at special demarcated areas, do not exit your car anywhere else.
The cache has been placed at a favourite bird hide where you are allowed to exit. Take the name of the cache and explore the fern growing down the boardwalk, this is very sensitive area, so do not get off the boardwalk to retrieve the cache, it can be done from above. Also there is no need to turn any rocks, please refrain doing so,
There is an entrance fee payable which is currently R 18.00 /adult, so take your picknic basket and make a day out of this nice resort.
