Geocache Description:

This will be the very first “Meet & Greet” in the Ellsworth, Maine area. The purpose of this event is to create an opportunity for cachers to gather, have coffee (provided), share snacks (pot-luck) and enjoy a chance to exchange/share trackables, talk caching and then strike out for a day of adventures in the area.

It will be held at the location of the local area “Relay For Life” event which will wrap up shortly before our event begins. The coords will bring you to the front door of the Ellsworth Middle School.

There will be at least one door prize awarded at this event (a recently released unusual trackable - which debuted at GW6). It will be drawn at 11 AM!!! Please arrive in time to get your ticket(s). Everyone who attends will receive one ticket for the door prize drawing! (All particpants in the Relay will receive a ticket! - but you must sign up on line to particiate in the Relay before Thursday, June 12th at 12Noon and show up for the Relay.) If you put any size donation in the "Relay for Life" donation can at the event you will receive one other door prize ticket. Persons who donate to the Team donations on line for the Relay before June 12the at 12Noon will also receive an extra entry. (Questions - please PM me through my profile.) No one who attends, regardless of your donation size, will have more than 2 chances to win. (I.E. Participants in relay will not get another entry for participating in and/or logging the event. Folks donating on line to the Relay will not get another ticket for putting money in the donation can the day of the event.) No donation is to small and this reflects understanding of the Economy and what you may spend for gas to just attend this event. Winners do not need to be present to win - that means if they contributed to the team on line - or participated in Relay but left early - they may still be the winner.

We hope to have this outside but in case of inclement weather please come inside - We will have a room inside (the library) – first door on your left, just in case. Formally starting at 10:AM, many of us will be on the grounds Friday night for the Relay for Life. You are welcome to come join us for that as well. The Meet & Greet should last about an hour giving everyone a chance to socialize yet then start out for a fairly good day of caching. EMSDanel has promised some new caches in the area. In addition, there are a number and good variety of caches already present, from GRCs to some nice Earthcaches. There are plenty to choose from in the area. Ellsworth is the Gateway to Acadia National Park (try thier multi-staged Earthcache and earn a printable certificate) and downeast Maine as well. There have not been a lot of short “Meet & Greets” in the upper part of our state. Come and join us for morning coffee before striking out for a day of caching. Everyone is welcome!
