Utby kyrka i Nylöse församling i Göteborg invigdes år 1923 efter arkitekt Arvid Bjerkes ritningar. Det är inte första kyrkan som har funnits i Utby, utan redan på medeltiden var Utby med byn Kviberg en egen församling i Örgryte pastorat. I samband med givandet av Nya Lödöses stadsrättigheter år 1473 omnämns Utby socken, dock lär kyrkan ha förstörts av danska trupper år 1566 då Daniel Rantzau härjade i denna del av Västergötland.
Utby nuvarande kyrka är en populär vigselkyrka.

Denna geocache är inte placerad på kyrkoområdet och inte heller i den kringliggande muren. Ta med dig en egen penna. Behållaren smälter väl in i omgivningen. Tidigare hette denna geocache "KV #4 - Utby kyrka".
Utby church in Nylöse congregation in Gothenburg was ordained the year 1923 from the architect Arvid Bjerkes drawings. This is not the first church that has existed in Utby, but already in the medieval times Utby was with the village Kviberg a own congregation in the parish of Örgryte. In the same time as the giving of city privileges to Nya Lödöse the year 1473 the Utby parish is mentioned, but the church was apparently destroyed by Danish troupes the year of 1566 when Daniel Rantzau havocked in that part of Västragötaland.
The Utby church of today is a popular church for weddings.

This geocache is not place in the church area and not in the surrounding church wall. Bring your own pen. The container blends well into it's surrounding. This geocache was previously namned "KV #4 - Utby kyrka".
