Geocache Description:

Cedar Mountain Regional Park

In an area of Kelowna decimated by the fires of 2003, this park is slowly growing new life everywhere. Early in June the wildflowers are in bloom, birds and wildlife return to accent the stunning vistas at the top of Cedar Mountain.
Kelowna Crags is an area within the park featuring a 100 meter (325 foot) basalt cliff, which are made up of several facinating columns. Several rope lines are already in place for those wishing to do a little climbing. For those that don't have climbing gear, there is an easier trail that leads to the summit on the north end.
From the parking lot expect about a 2 km (return) hike over easy to moderate terrian. Although the trail does become steep and technical for a short distance, vertical gain is only about 100m. Don't let my description discourage you, it is easier than it looks. Take a lunch and lots of water and make an afternoon outing of it!!!
To access the park, follow Chute Lake road thru the Kettle Valley subdivsion. When you reach the gravel road you are 2km's from the parking lot. The road is well maintained and is suitable for use with a car.
