Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This one should be a challenge as the tree cover can throw off your GPSr. This is a nice little wildlife refuge in a very urban setting. Watch for thorny vines, ticks, and possibly poison ivy.
This is a 3-stage hunt. The first is a geocaching.com micro container with just the coordinates to the next step. The second is non-traditional, so if you are having trouble, make sure you leave no stone unturned. Final location is a standard ammo box.
Please take care to put the first two stages back exactly as you found them. They can easily get lost in all the underbrush, so if you move them from their locations I might never locate them again.
There is a camera in the final cache. Feel free to take a picture of you and/or your group, or anything else you find fun. It does have a flash. To charge it flip out the little lever on the front and wait for the orange light on the top of the camera to blink. Flip the flash lever closed when you are done to save the battery. If the camera is out of film let me know so I can get the pics posted here for everyone to enjoy.
The best place to park is N 41° 56.241, W 91° 42.255. Please tread lightly and CITO.
Cache Hunter's etiquette: Be respectful to others and try to keep geocaching fun for others. Don't despoil the area, watch out for non-cachers, and re-hide the cache as you found it.
If you take something from this (or any) cache, please leave something of equal-or-greater value. No one likes to find an empty cache, or one filled with garbage!
This cache was placed with the permission of the Cedar Rapids Parks Dept.
