Geocache Description:

[CZ] Rychla drive-in kes, venovana mestysu Katovice.
PROZATÍM NEVKLÁDEJTE TB ani GC!!!
[EN] Quick drive-in cache, dedicated to a small town Katovice.

[CZ] Nebudu vas nudit sahodlouhym psanim o historii mestyse Katovice, o ktere se muzete docist na ruznych webovych strankach (napr. oficialni stranky mestyse Katovice - historie).

Snad jenom zminim, ze mestecko vzniklo podle historických pramenu z jedne z osad, jejiz obyvatele ryzovali zlato z reky Otavy. První pisemne zminky o Katovicich jsou z pocatku 11. stoleti.
Zajimavosti vsak je mozny puvod nazvu mestyse. Podle knihy Vladimira Hulpacha "Pohadkove vandrovani po Cechach" dostala osada nedaleko Strakonic jmeno Katovice podle piseckeho kata, ktereho v techto mistech zabili rejtari.
A jak to tedy bylo?
Za onoho casu meli ve staroslavnem meste Pisku kata, ktery sve remeslo prilis neovladal a rad se dival na dno korbele. Vic nez se piseckemu konselstvu libilo. A tak se stalo, ze kdyz mel jednou o hrdlo zkratit jakehosi mordyre a loupeznika, zasahl ho nekolikrat mecem, nez popravu dokonal.
Rozliceny dav se vrhl na popraviste, ale kat se dal na utek. Naskocil na kone a uhanel ke Strakonicum. Ve zmatku vsak ukradl kone rejtarum a ti ho zacali pronasledovat.
U Stekne se uz zdalo, ze jim zmizi v lese, ale kdyz minul zamek Strelu, bylo jasne, ze jezdcum neunikne. Rejtari kata bez milosti usmrtili a od te doby se mistu, kde bylo jen nekolik chalup, zacalo rikat Katovice.
Toto by mohl byt konec pribehu, ale neni.
Po teto udalosti chybel Piseckym mistr popravci. Dlouho nemohli nikoho najit, az se po case sam prihlasil muz, ktery pochazel prave z Katovic.
Odtud tedy muze ale i nemusi pochazet nazev mestyse Katovice.
A muzeme se tedy domnivat ze ostatky usmrceneho kata jsou ulozeny na zdejsim hrbitove.

[EN] I would like to mention that on the basis of historical source Katovice has arisen from one of the colonies, whose citizens panned for gold in the river Otava. First written references about Katovice are from the beginning of the 11th Century.
The possible origin of the small town Katovice is a matter of interest. According to the book of Vladimir Hulpach “A Folk Tale Wandering around Czech” the Katovice, a nearby Strakonice colony, was named after the Pisek’s headman that was killed in those places by hussars.
So how did it really happen?
By the time there was a headman in Pisek that wasn’t very skillful in his job and rather used to drink in a local tavern. More than the Pisek’s alderman would bear. So it happened that when he should have executed a thief and murderer he hit him many times by the sword before he finished the execution.
A furious crowd broke into the execution place but the headman run off. He jumped into the horse back and galloped in the Strakonice direction. But he suddenly stole the hussars’ horse and they started to chase him.
It seems that they lost him in the nearby woods in Steken but as he passed the castle Strela, it was obvious that hussars will catch him. They killed him with no mercy and since this time, they started to call this place, where only few cottages stood, Katovice.
This could have been the end of the story but it isn’t.
After this happening the Pisek’s crowd missed the headman. They couldn’t found someone to do this job but one day a man from Katovice came and applied for it.
So the name Katovice could or couldn’t come up from this story.

[CZ] A ted neco ke kesi. Dlouho jsme otaleli zalozit vlastní kes, ale az na popud smolda team jsme se do toho pustili. Snad nebudete zklamani a hned nas neukamenujete.
Kes je lehce pristupna a je ulozena mimo areal mistniho hrbitova. Pokud nechcete, nemusite tedy chodit do arealu hrbitova.
Obcas muze byt v okoli rusno. Davejte tedy prosim pozor na mudly a skrys opet dejte do puvodniho stavu.
[EN] Cache is relatively easily accessible but the surroundings could be busy sometimes. So please be aware of muggles and situate the cache into the origin state (condition).
