Geocache Description:

With so much great climbing in the Wasatch, I figured there needed to be a cache that gives an opportunity to climb while caching.

In the Storm Mountain area up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Go to N 40° 37.467 W 111° 44.657 for a good view of the climb. From there you'll need to follow the description to get to the cache.

The picture above can be used to identify the correct route. You can cross the river on a bridge, then there is a short, easy scramble to a nice ledge. This is the start of the climb. The climb has 2 pitches (or sections of a climb). The first is a short pitch, and the second is much longer. You can break it up into 3 if you wish. However, you do not have to climb all the pitches to get to the cache. The cache is at the top of the first pitch, which is relatively short. For those familiar with the climbing rating system, you have an option of a 5.6 or 5.9 to get to this point. Climb up to the chains and then scramble up and to the left. This is a popular route, so please make sure to re-hide the cache well, so it doesn't get stumbled upon by climbers.

Because the cache is located on a popular rock climbing area and is seldom visited trades are not necessary. This is an experience cache! Sign the log and brag about your adventure to other cachers!
