Geocache Description:

Welcome to Vogansville!

Excerpt from the History of Lancaster County by Dr. Frederick Klein, 1924...

Vogansville was founded by John Vogan, who erected the first house on the site of the present town in (CENSORED). He was of the third American generation, his grandfather, William Vogan, having emigrated from Ireland. James Vogan, father of John, founder of Vogansville, was a soldier of the Revolution. It was upon part of his father's farm that John Vogan laid out the village of Vogansville, in (CENSORED). Post-office was established in 1845, C. S. Hoffman being first postmaster. School was early established; and a church of union character organized in 1848, another church being built in 1873. The population was about 134 in 1880; in 1920 it was about 300.

This is a simple, two part multi-cache with a virtual first stage.

Stage 1: Locate the prominent grave of John Vogel, founder of Vogansville and answer a simple question. In what year did John Vogan build the first house in Vogansville? Add the last two digits of this date to the last two digits of the posted latitude and you are ready to find Stage 2!

Final stage is a silver bison tube. Please replace exactly as found so that it is out of sight. Don't forget to bring your own pen and absolutely no night caching!
