MATA stands for Memphis Area Transit Authority, the bus and
trolley system for Memphis.
Memphis is a well-planned city and the streets are fairly easy
to negotiate, except at peak business hours when things get
downright hectic. Public transport is provided by the MATA. They
also operate The Trolley, 2 buses in the downtown
area.
The famous Main Street Trolley lines run up and down Main Street
from Auction Street in the North to J.O Patterson in the South.
These antique trolleys also make a Riverfront Loop that gives a
close-up view of the Mississippi River, the Pyramid and Mud Island.
It also provides access to a variety of attractions including
Downtown cafes, Beale Street and the National Civil Rights
Museum.
The Cache
Like the others in this series, your GPS will take you to a MATA
bus stop. You are looking for an unspecified micro containing a log
book awaiting your signature.
A Note About Difficulty
The Difficulty rating of 2 is for the hide purely if no one is
there waiting for the bus. Obviously, finding this cache can be
near impossible if someone is there.
A Note About Terrain
The closest parking will require you to climb a small hill,
hence the Terrain rating of 2. However, if you park a short walk
farther you can take the sidewalk all the way to the cache and
avoid any climbing, making the Terrain no more than a 1.5.
