Geocache Description:

The cache is not near any open paths leading directly to it.

This is the first cache in what will eventually be a series of caches.

Everyone that knows me (and anyone that spent more then 10 minutes with me) knows that Paintball is the love of my life.
This cache is situated at an historic paintball site in gothenburg, this is the field that was the central hub for players in the begging of the nineties when Paintball became allowed in sweden.

This field is not active, BUT, if you hear the sound of people yelling and shooting, you MAY NOT go to the cache without proper protective equipment. Getting shot in the face without protective gear is potentially DANGEROUS, so please come back at annother time if the field is occupied.

The field is an open forest filled with bunkers built of sticks, rocks, fallen trees and bits of wood.
Two teams start at the opposite end of the field and the object of the game is to steal the other teams flag from their base without getting hit by a opponent.
Each player wears protective goggles with face, mouth and ear protection, they also carry a paintball marker powered by either compressed air or Co2.
The markers are loaded with .68" (17mm) caliber, gelatine balls filled with a non toxic paint mixture that breaks upon impact to mark the oposing player. When a player is marked with a paintball they are "out" of the game and must wait until the next game before they can participate again.

Playing started in this area ca 1993 and the field was active until the beginning of the new millenium when a new era of paintball began and tournaments moved out of the woods and on to open fields filled with barrels, drainpipes, wooden constructions and inflatable obstacles. the reasons for this evolution of the game was to make it more accesible for spectators. Players stopped wearing camouflage to remove the "war game" aspect of the sport, and new brightly coloured playing gear became highest fashion.

The new field was built near the cache "tango#2", and at this site famous pro-teams from all over the world came to play.

The cache is a cylinder containing logbook, pen and some small trade items. PLEASE put the cache back in the exact same way as you find it (Standing, lid facing up)

If you are interested in trying the incredble sport of paintball, please feel free to contact me and will gladly help anyone who wants to try it.
