South Sandia Schedule 40 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

RockyMtnReviewer: Mouser will always be remembered as one of, and by, the original geocachers in the area. Many of his caches are still out there today; some of those have been adopted by others in order to keep them active. There is something that is lost when a cache is adopted though. Mouser loses one of his "hides" so the cache can live on with another owner.

LUCKYSTRIKE1 was generous enough to offer to replace the container and adopt this cache. There are some issues with this as you can't adopt a cache that isn't there and the replacement cache is of a different style than the original. This is also one of the oldest caches in the state and it doesn't seem right to take ownership of an historic cache like this away from the original owner. I've discussed all of these points with LUCKYSTRIKE1 and we've made a decision: This cache will be archived so that it remains one of Mouser's caches and LUCKYSTRIKE1's replacement container will be placed as a tribute to Mouser.

The last couple of finds on this cache (those since March 1st) should be edited to notes (instead of finds) and those cachers should log those finds on the new cache (GC1A5WJ). This is because those cachers did not find GC259, they found the new cache.

If you have questions or concerns about the decision to archive this cache, please contact me as noted below.

Thanks,
RockyMtnReviewer
