Geocache Description:

Hanidh is an old village lying about 85 kilometers north of the Riyadh-Dammam Highyway exit. The area dates back to hundreds of years as it was mentioned in old references but the cache site (few kilometers south of Hanidh) seems ancient with petroglyphs nearby.

Drive towards a water tower, which can be seen westward from Hanidh and then take any of the sand track to the site. Jon Carter in his book (Desert Treks from AlKhobar, p.44) reported seeing some wild cats there, similar in size and color to lynx.

You can continue exploring the area by driving to a massive rock formation at N 26.27.419 E.48.36.138 . All around this jebel, you will find many tumuli with great view of the wadi below. If you are prepared, you may proceed further to see the sink holes mentioned in Carter’s book at N 26 20.835 E 48 23.210

Happy caching.
