Geocache Description:

Based on the original Jasmer Challenge, GC1GBC1.

The cache is at the posted coordinates, but you must meet the requirements to log this page. You are welcome to find the cache, post a note and log a “find” once you’ve completed the requirements!

Welcome to the Alberta version of "The Jasmer Challenge". You must have logged at least one cache that was placed in every month back to the start of Geocaching (May 2000), up to and including the current month.

jasmerb, the originator of this challenge, encouraged other cachers to set up a copy of this challenge in their area. Since we completed this challenge last month, we thought it was a suitable challenge for other Alberta cachers. The difficulty and terrain ratings reflect the necessity of us Canadian cachers to travel to several areas to meet the requirements of this challenge.

In order to log this cache as found, you need to provide a screenshot of your cache finds based on the Placed Month. You can have GSAK’s assistance with this exercise using this macro: MonthlyCoverage GSAK macro. Capture a screen shot and post it with your log. If you don’t use GSAK or similar software for managing caches, please create a bookmark link for this part of the logging requirement.

Here is an example of what that looks like:

Then either create a bookmark list of a cache from each month for 2000 and 2001, or attach a screenshot of this information from 2000 and 2001 that you’ve found, like this:

Some people have wondered about the caches from 2000 and 2001 since they aren’t very common near us. I’ve put together a table showing how far you have to travel from Calgary to find the caches placed during the first two years.

A coin has been issued for the jasmer challenge. If you're interested, have a look here: Jasmer Challenge Coin.
