Allan Saxe Park
This foot bridge is a little different. It combines old style stone architecture with modern reinforced concrete. The bridge itself is very low and can hardly be seen from a distance. Therefore it does not detract in any way from the natural setting of the park.
This park is in a recently developed section of Arlington. Near the bridge is a pond that looks like an old stockpond where cattle came to drink when this was still a rural area. Now it is a very peaceful and beautiful place inviting visitors to relax on the bank and maybe to drop a hook into the water while half hoping that nothing takes the bait.
What is the distance from the center of the bridge to the nearest picnic table? As a boy on the farm my father taught me to measure a field by walking around it and counting my steps on each side. Since a man's stride is about 36 inches or 1 yard and there are 4840 square yards in one acre, a few simple calculations were all that were needed to determine the size of any field. Now measure from the bridge to the table to qualify for logging this cache. If your legs are short you may get a slightly higher number but that's OK! Email your answer to geooneoldman@aol.com.
Remember this is a virtual cache and there is no container to find. Enjoy your visit. Logs of players that have emailed incorrect answers or no answers will be removed. Please do not post your answer in the log.
