This is a quick park and grab near the intersection of Lake Hughes
and Ridge Route Road. It is in memory of the Lazy Z Ranch which was
located where the Stonegate community is today (Stonegate is across
the street from the cache). William Willoby Jenkins settled the
land in 1878. This land belonged to members of the Jenkins family
until the early 1960's when it was sold to Newhall Land and Farm.
In 1997 a developer was having the property directly above
Stonegate graded for the Northstar community project. During the
grading the human remains of 4 adult males and 1 infant were
discovered in a forgotten cemetary. It appears that the human
remains were members of the Jenkins family, who were probably
killed in the neighboring fued between the Jenkins, Roses and
Chormicles. The family fueds were over a parcel of land and they
lasted for several years. For the whole story visit (visit link)
