For Earthday this year we'll be helping out the Barnstable Land
Trust with a property clean up -
UPDATED:It looks like we'll have a smaller group than last year,
but that works out well.
projects for the day:
clearing out Stag Sumac (more to come on that after Friday/at the
event)
minor trash pickup along roadside (should only need two people
or so on that project)
leaf raking/collection: looks like we'll have a backpack blower
for use (thanks QM!) and a truck to dump them in.
Minor brush clearing: Will need some hand loppers for that -
nothing too heavy duty, hand-sized pairs will be great. (checking
on that today)
The Barnstable Land Trust will have Coffee & Donuts as well
as Water & Fruit available through the day and is also bringing
marshmallows if the weather is nice enough (which it looks good) to
burn brush!As Cool Librarian posted about hot dogs - I'll leave
that up to you guys - It's certainly doable if you guys want to
work that out.
There has also been some talk about a local radio station
donating work gloves and trash bags, but that's not a definite yet
- I'll update again before the event!looking forward to seeing
everyone there - looks like it'll be a great day!
