Gibbs Lake Park Cache #1
This is a 299 acre park that offers a variety of activities. This is one my favorite places to hike and ice fish. There is a multi-use trail and is designed for hiking, horseback riding, and cross country skiing. Please yield to cross country skiers, horses/riders and let them pass. There is also a boat launch in the main parking lot. The park borders ¾ of Gibbs Lake and provides a few fishing opportunities from shore. The lake is extremely weedy in the shallow areas so, a boat, canoe, or waiting for enough ice during the winter is probably your best option to get out past the weedline.
This cache was placed by my daughter “J”. We were on a hike around the North Loop trail and she said, “Dad, we should put a Geocache there; it looks lonely.” The rest is history.
Keep an eye out for deer along the way. Bring a writing stick and please replace cache exactly as found.
Congratulations to stub45 on the FTF!
