Random Multi Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

the hermit crabs: This was one of our favorite cache concepts, so we're saddened to be archiving it. But we just don't have the time it would take to scout out new locations and rebuild it, unfortunately.

Geocache Description:

A multicache in Boxborough, MA, with somewhere between two and six stages. (Probably at least three, unless the cachers before you were trying to make it very easy for you.)

This multi consists of five small containers and one ammo can. You will have to find at least one of the small containers, and possibly more of them, in order to get to the final cache.

The small container at the listed coordinates holds the coordinates for the other four small containers. One of the five small containers contains an object with the coordinates for the final cache. Once you find the coordinates for the final, you can go to it without visiting whichever small containers you haven't found yet. Bring the final coordinates with you (but leave the small container where you found it).

Once you've found the main cache (or DNF'd on it), you then need to bring the cache coordinates back to any one of the five small containers -- it's completely up to you which one to leave it in.

Backup plan: In the event that the final cache coordinates go missing, or if there are multiple caching teams all hunting at the same time and one team has the final coordinates in their possession, it will still be possible to get the final coordinates by finding all five small containers. Each one will have part of the information needed to get the final coords, which are:
    N 42° AB.CDE W 71° FG.HIJ
(each small container will have the values of two of the letters).

Parking: Park at N 42° 30.320 W 71° 30.990. at the Robinson Carriage Trail conservation area, on Hill Road in Boxborough. The area is open from dawn to dusk.

A couple of things worth noting:
  • There are many trails in this area, and there is more than one way to get to any of the waypoints. You probably will want to have your track-log enabled; you might need those breadcrumbs to find your way back out.
  • The final cache and all but one of the small containers are very close to the trails. (One small container is about 75 feet off the trail, but it's in a spot that is visible from the trail.) Although you may be tempted to, no bushwhacking should be necessary.

Congrats to GO$Rs for the FTF!
