Sara-Cap NYS Parks: We are in the process of planning for our 2nd Annual Saratoga/Capital District Regional Challenge and are archiving all remaining active 2012 caches. This cache is placed as part of the New York State Park Saratoga/Capital District Region Geocache Challenge. Cache is a large ammo can containing a camera. We would like you to record your visit to this cache, this area in the park by taking a picture of you and your cachemates in this most scenic location.
This cache is placed as part of the New York State Park Saratoga/Capital District Region Geocache Challenge. There are 44 geocaches hidden within 11 state parks and state historic sites in the Saratoga/Capital District region, and geocachers finding them all will be eligible to enter their names in a drawing for valuable prizes. If you are interested in taking up the challenge, you can pick up a geocache passport at any of the participating parks and sites, or download the passport at www.nysparks.com.
This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to stamp your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item.
You can find the cache with GPS Coordinates alone, but detailed Letterboxing Clues are available in the Park Office.
Park at the lower level parking lot and find the yellow trail heading north. Cache is a large ammo can containing a camera. We would like you to record your visit to this cache and this area in the park by taking a picture of you and your partners in the most scenic location after you sign the log. This is a great perch to watch for the nesting eagles that inhabit the reservoir.
This area has a very diverse tree population; Ash, White Pine, Red and Yellow Maple, Red and White Oak, Apple, and Cedar. If you find this cache on a calm day you won’t miss the breeze.
Mine Kill State Park is open during the summer months from 7:30am to 8pm and 7:30am to 4pm the rest of the year. There is a $3 entry fee into the park during the summer months. You can reach the park office at 518-827-6111 for more information.
