ENCROACHMENT Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

2Wheel'in: I visited the cache site today and it looks as though actual encroachment may have done in “Encroachment”. Couldn’t find hide nor hair of it (yeah, I know...hide and hair are farther up the trail). It’s apparent that the neighborhood youngsters are onto the location, and replacing the container would only result in another container lost. This cache had a good run, it was originally placed in 2005 for the Hot, Hot, Hot! cache event...and that event planted the seeds of camaraderie and organization for what eventually evolved into NoVAGO (www.NoVAGO.org). The cache was active for one and a half years, and had over 90 on-line logs...and I enjoyed reading each and every one of them...thanks for the memories.

Geocache Description:

Located along the Horse Path that runs parallel to the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park (W&OD Bike Trail). Placed for the October 2, 2005 Hot, Hot, Hot! Cache Event.

The cache is hidden within 5 or so feet of the trail, and there is no true bushwhacking required. The container is a clear “Lock and Lock” approximately 5 inches by 6 inches.. Please be discreet when retrieving and replacing the “container” - because of encroachment. Congratulations to PyroNorm on the FTF.
