Geocache Description:

Wasatch Alexandria

This is a puzzle cache.  It is not at the listed coordinates.  To obtain the cache coordinates, please solve the following puzzle:

The J Willard Marriott Library (which you will find at the posted coordinates) on the campus of the University of Utah is one of the premier institutions of Salt Lake City and a leading research library in the United States.  If you haven't yet visited this recently-rebuilt facility, or haven't spent much time here, this is your chance to explore, solve a puzzle and find a geocache!

The following questions can be answered by doing some enjoyable research inside the library as well as on the grounds immediately surrounding it.  While it may be possible to answer some of the questions by surfing the Internet from home, that would defeat some of the exploratory nature of the puzzle.  Solving the puzzle and finding the cache should be 100% wheelchair accessible.  It is also a great winter cache for cold, snowy days!

As you answer the questions, you will be providing the values for A through K.  These values are then used as described later to find the coordinates of the cache.  See the Additional Hints below for assistance with some of the questions, particularly those which may be difficult to locate.  Have at it!

        Pink and green (A = 121)

        Purple striation (A = 100)

        Shadowy blues (A = 157)

        Calvin Rampton (B = 125)

        Architecture (C = 127)

        Astronomy (C = 144)

        Competition (C = 158)

The captain's boat was attacked with:

        An object like a jam tin (D = 104)

        Blood-red paint (D = 126)

You can glaum onto the answer to this one on page:

        290 (D = 104)

        208 (D = 126)

        622 (D = 149)

10 - Located around the outside library grounds are numerous bronze book sculptures (which were the subject of the now-archived City of Books cache).  Concentrating on the sculptures outside the east entrance, the approximate distance between two atlases is:

        97 feet (J = 80)

        212 feet (J = 119)

        329 feet (J = 78)

The book sculptures are buried in snow??  Here is an alternate question:

Still outside, in the southwest corner, how many large spotlights are aimed at the rounded red wall?
